SBS 2008 R2 – Announcements coming
There’s been a fair bit of chatter here at SMBNation about the future of SBS as a product. Some have heard rumours that SBS 2008 is the last version of SBS 2008. As an MVP we are aware of where things are going but are prevented from discussing them due to NDA. Microsoft frustratingly has been very quite on this front which only gives fuel to the rumours of SBS 2008 being discontinued. Let me state categorically that SBS 2008 is NOT the last version of product Microsoft are targeting at the SMB customers. Today though I’ve been given the first public notice of what Microsoft’s intentions are in respect to SBS 2008… here’s a blog post from the Windows Server team that talks a little about it. I’m also hearing that the SBS team might be posting something real soon (no idea what it is but I hear they might…)
