| Hi Wayne,
Great to see the site back on the air.. Thanks for a quick place to go when we need good information on MS SBS
Cheers
Ryan |
| I always thought a phoenix was supposed to rise from the flames, not the extremely cold ashes of the previous sbsfaq site. That's a Q on the end Mark!!
Good to have the site back Wayne. |
| Welcome Back SBSFAQ, we missed you.
The new look is way cool, but takes a long time to load for the first user of the day. I think there is workaround for this on sbslinks.com site.
Don't leave us for so long again, we need you,
HA |
| Wayne,
Great to see you back, after listening to your talk on mobile devices at SMB Nation, I had nearly worn out my reload button checking for your site
Best Regards Mark |
| Great Info is found here. Thanks for the use of your site. I look forward to more info on SBS 2003. |
| I like the content, no doubt about that, but what happened to the Bobcat Orange header? |
| The site content is good but I think a more professional layout is needed. To me, the current layout works better for a 4th grade teacher's site, not a Small Business Server site. Just my opinion, I'm not trying to offend anyone.
|
| great Site, very useful info! |
| Thanks for your great efforts and information. Will enjoy further info as it rolls out.
Comment to Jon (above) about site appearance. Would you rather drive a well worn Jaguar XKE or a brand new VW Beetle? It's about the content! |
| Thanks Wayne for a great site on Small Business Server. I hope you can get the remaining content you had on the old site back up here soon - we've missed it. |
| I must admit, I've got to agree with the layout comment... I suspect something better is in the works though ;o) |
| It's just the a poor choice in fonts. The content is there, just possibly a font change will make it all appear much more professional. No offense meant to anyone! |
| Thanks for the feedback guys -I'm working on a few extensions to this site now that it's back up - the screen layout and fonts etc were all designed by me and what can I say... I'm a better networking person than I am web designer :-) All the feedback is very much appreciated. |
| I can't read any of the items in NEWS. I see the list of them, but clicking on them goes to a problem screen. |
| Um I was reading your News regarding Longhorn's new name Vista - like to mention that VI is roman for 6 & VII is roman for 7 - don't quite get the connection? My smartarse comment witheld, just an obsevation. |
| Any news on the new trend visual guide ?? |
| I was looking for the new Trend guides.. it's november already so I thought they would be finished by now...
Regards
Rene Leussink |
| Unless you have a customer that is specifically asking for Trend SMB v3.0 - STAY AWAY! So far we've had 3 trashed installations, and we're not going to do any more. The upgrade process only works under the most opmistic conditions, and the install from scratch doesn't work via remote web workplace. To add insult to injury, there are at least two hotfixes out for the suite and our Trend channel rep tells us that more in the works. |
| Noah - can you please contact me offline - wayne@correct.com.au so I can hear more about your issues? |
| I've deployed a few instances of CSM 3.0 now on SBS 2003. Only one problem on an existing server that was running ISA 2000, couldn't access the 'security dashboard'. I'm not a fan of this dashboard, it doesn't give me a good feeling that the product is doing it's job. I can only assume it's hooked into Exchange and doing it's job. |
| I agree with STAYING aware from 3.0 unless it is necessary... We have had same installation issues, it eats memory, does not clearly notify whose server is having problems.
We have talked with Trend, they have a few fixes, but require much manual entry on the notifications...
The promise to revise...but when? |
| Ive installed V3 of Trend on my own server and we hit issues straight away with network traffic goiing through the roof. That settled so I have installed at another customer and bang 1 week on people cannot log on correctly applications hang ????
It also seems my TREND reseller is now adamant they will not provide V2 keys on renewal to force me on to 3 ??!!! |
| I have two customers on v3 - but only with SBS2003 SP1 - none with ISA 2000 - only 2004 - wonder if that's why we haven't had problems. |
| To: Dave Proctor To: Corporate Computing To: Matthew P (BCA) I would like to follow-up about your issues. If you are interested, please contact me off-line - kam@TrendMicro.com so we can discuss.

| I've installed CS on SBS 2003 SP1 with ISA 2004 and the CS Console page has problems with refresh. Anyone else have this problem? |
| |
| Wayne, Any Idea when this Trend Guide will be posted.... You website states the following, but we are 11 days into May already....
"New Trend Guide for v3.0 to be released on May 1st. Friday, April 14, 2006 Yes - it's almost here - the much requested guide to installing Trend CSM v3 on SBS 2003 will be released here on May 1st. More details shortly. " |
| How can I restore a user account on SBS2003 SP1 from the SBS2003 backup file? |
| Hi Wayne,
I attended your informative session on push email in exchange, in Perth last week. We are ready to setup and test this but we are unable to install the SBS certifcate on an 02 Atom device. Any chance you can send me the info on the reg hacks needed to do this. Thanks and regards, J Clark jclark@leapconsulting.com.au |
| Hi Wayne
What a nice performance improvement on the SBSFaq site
Thanks for all your efforts - GGM |
| Wayne,
Just downloaded the Trend Guide. In the guide you refer to Appendix E for file exclusions, but my copy stops with Appendix C. Do D and E not exist yet?
Thanks!
|
| About the version of the guide you have. |
| hhi |
| When is the video of Tech.ED 2006 going to be posted for download ? |
| Just thought I would add a note of appreciation for this site, and for all your (and your team's) great work in keeping us informed on all things SBS. Keep up the good work ...there are many of us depending on it!! |
| Hi was in my class at fairview, unable to get me off of the cottage. |
| well well well |
| Very good! |
| An informative site that is helping me to realign my thoughts for SBS and associated software like virus protection.
Thanks Wayne and your team! |
| hii there:)
|
| Hi Wayne,
I am still very much a learner in the whole SBS thing but currently look after about 10 very small SBS networks, I am slowly moving all of my clients over to Trend and found your guide extremly helpful. I also want to run it in conjunction with IMF is there any information that you can provide me with that helps me setup IMF and maintain it better aswell.
Regards
Damien |
| Just another thought Wayne I am setting up our customers on Trent CSM for SMB Ver 3.0 plus Trend Antispyware for SMB what are your thoughts on Trends Antispyware program it seems OK to me any reason for me to not use this product.

| Hi
I wanted to ask anybody if they have had any trouble with Trend Micro CSM 3.0 in terms of their clients being registered as offline in the security Settings on default desktops. I cannot for the life of me get them back to online and the trend Micro Support doc did not work has anybody else come up against the same problem.

| Make note that upgrade from 2.0 to 3.5 you LOSE the mobile divice bits. |
| I am trying to find someone to help me with my SBS2003 sp1. The WMI broke one day, specifically, the performance counters for memory, TCP/IP etc. I've tried a lot of things, but these counters refuse to be returned to their rightfull place. And so the Server Performance Reports are basically empty! Any ideas? |
| Forget TM CS and CS v3.0 and Anti-spyware, the solution is TM CSM v3.5, a free download and upgrade from TM CSM v3.0, it incorporates the Anti-Spyware |
| That's CS and CSM v3.0. I left out the M for Messaging. Sorry. |
| Hi Wayne and team, I just thought I'd drop you all a quick note to say keep up the good work and I look forward to working with you on the WebSpy Insight for MS SBS Premium solution.
Wayne, when you get the chance, drop me a line to discuss how we can help you and your readers.
All the best! |
| When is the TM CSM Guide going to be updated for V3.5?
It's been promised for a while now. |
| This site is a timely find. We are in the beginning stages of implementing SharePoint in our office. It will be helpful to see what others have learned.
By the way, does anyone have any suggestions for good links that approach the subject of integration of SQL information into a Sharepoint page? We are also beginning a programming project using SQL (always been a UNIX house before) and I thought that it would be a great feature to have our data accessable from the sharepoint site.
Any thoughts?
Thanks again for having this site up, it is appreciated. |
| I attended the iTX Road Show held in Perth with ARN, MS, IBM & NetGear earlier this year and thought the presentation on Managed Services you gave was excellent. I've downloaded a copy of the PowerPoint presentation, but don't have Office 2007 installed to view the slides. Is it possible to place a copy of this presentation in PowerPoint 2003 format on your site? |
| Richard, download the MS compatability pack for Office 2003 so you can open it. It worked for me. |
| sbs trend, password reset. Ive just taken over support on a server and after no help from trend and much surfing i finally found a hit in google. Your Faq showed how to reset the password andi have now managed to take controll of it
THANKS HEAPS! |
| Wayne, Can you check the pending subscription to the secure site for me? Thanks
|
| Ok, where can I find the exact updates I need to load on my SBS servers for Vista Compatibility??
;-) |
| I want to publish 'companyweb' site over internet. |
